The input splits in two. One path stays untouched. The other passes through twelve fixed LC bands and comes back under the original as a contribution you blend, not a curve you draw.
Each band sits at a musically chosen frequency and cannot be moved. You do not sweep for the problem; you apply pressure at a known point, listen, and keep it or close it. Because the bands overlap and interact in parallel, raising one changes how its neighbours read, and small moves across several bands usually sound more natural than one large move. A frequency graph shows the result, not how it was made, and a parametric EQ drawn to the same shape does not sound the same.
DELTA is the microscope: you hear only what Medusa adds, so bold decisions come fast. PARALLEL BLEND is where the result is judged, usually at 20 to 40 percent, sometimes less. Around the bank sit the global controls: FOUNDATION and DEPTH for the floor, HIGH BLOOM and AIR for the top, EDGE for contour at both ends, FOCUS to shift where the attention goes, DENSITY, GRAIN and TX for texture on the contribution only. The dry signal never passes through any of them.

To be honest, this plugin isn't very intuitive. However, once you spend some time with it, you realize what a useful tool it is.
It effortlessly handles filtering issues in complex mixes.
I hope that in the future, Ziad adds a frequency spectrum display. And who knows—maybe we’ll be able to use the plugin on multichannel tracks, if that’s not asking too much.

Um, ok, so I just demoed this after watching some of your videos on the time shift function. I have to say, I'm not sure if there's an easy way to recreate the subtle, mono-compatible enhancement that's happening here, but if there is, I'd sure bet people would be talking about it. As another reviewer mentioned, you might think "it's not really doing anything," but rest assured, it is. Can't wait to get my hands on the full version. I have a few projects that are due in a week, and I'll be putting this on the master bus for some end-of-chain pixie dust. I just wish it had a little more control over the frequencies, but there's enough here that I really don't think it's "lacking." Just turn "Split" on, set the times a few ms apart, and start turning things up. Voilà! Oh, and the "Foundation" and "Depth" add a low end that quite honestly made me laugh out loud with glee when I first turned it up.
Pulsar Modular P915 is a real Swiss Army knife: versatile, practical, and surprisingly easy to use. Great for shaping sound fast without sacrificing control.
I loved the original version of P915 Medusa, using it both as a sound design tool and for mixing - things just sounded better with it. The reworked P915 is almost a different beast, with a focus on that final 5% on top of a "finished" mix that really makes good into great - and the new Medusa is fabulous sounding and rewards bold experimentation as much as subtle moves. I hope she continues to evolve, perhaps into a tool as equally at home during production as she is making the finished article even more alive.
At first I didn’t really gel with the P915 but after watching Ziad’s instructional video on the plugin I immediately saw how indispensable it would become for my projects. The chosen filters are excellent and I can really coax out tones I wouldn't easily find with other tools. Many times I’ve been in a situation where I’ve been trying to solve a problem for a long time using EQs and filters and the like and nothing would work until I slapped the P915 on the project and everything would just fall into place after a few twists of a knob.
It is a really great tool to highlight elements in your mixes or just to bring more life to your instruments and even bring out an organic width to your mix. I really recommend getting this plugin even if it might not call to you straight away.
Don't sleep on this plugin! It seems straightforward enough, but there is some magic in the filters! The tilt control was a great design idea, very useful. The resonance controls on the HPF/LPFs can help make musical choices. As others have said, the P915 excels on electric guitars, you can really build a wall of sound if that's your thing!
Even though I got it a while ago, I have not really explored it to its fullest. Recently, I used it on a mix with acoustic instruments, such as a fiddle, dobro, and acoustic guitar, with some very nice results.
I need to explore it more, but so far I have enjoyed the results, which are different when compared to just using an eq.

After buying plugins since 2012, you eventually reach a point where you stop—most “new” releases are just variations of tools you already own. And then along comes Medusa.
I can’t fully explain what’s happening under the hood—only that nothing else sounds or works quite like it. Medusa has completely changed the way I think about tone and how to achieve the sounds I’m after.
I often run it in parallel with a touch of distortion to emphasize key elements and bring them forward in the mix. I’ve also built a custom preset that adds a stunning sense of width—not the artificial kind most stereo wideners give you, but a spacious, organic feel. On stereo rock guitars, it’s just gorgeous: it opens up the sound and nestles perfectly into the mix.
And to top it off? It’s incredibly CPU friendly, so I can use it freely without worrying about performance.

P915 is a valuable tool in my creative process. It can be addictive, as it's easy to lose track while tweaking. It is an excellent tool for enhancing the "vibe" of tracks with its distinctive filters. You can create intriguing filter effects, simulate acoustic resonances, and even generate rhythmic patterns by automating the band levels. The Performance Bank simply stores snapshots or variations of settings. The Morph is basically for transitions.
As a hobbyist electronic music producer, at 1st sight it was not obvious that my workflow could benefit from a tool like this. Over the years I’ve accumulated many EQ’s and filters and default to a few standards. As I now have a number of Pulsar Modular plugins loaded as part of my DAW template I trialled P915 Medusa.
Initially I thumbled around without any outstanding results, but then after watching the video applied a more disciplined approach and quickly discovered how it could be applied to my works.
Even though I can typically use existing EQs and filters to balance my mixes, occasionally these do not work (it’s likely my inexperience). Where other EQs/Filters failed, I was able to get the desired result with P915 Medusa quickly.
Once I’d discovered a P915 Medusa workflow results came quickly using ears rather than eyes. Mix balances are overall improved when compared to my previous methods.
P915 Medusa is now part of my DAW template project, and I now reach for this regularly often in preference to existing favourite EQs and filters.
P915 is a one of a kind filter bank! It gives that intimate vintage sound and really brings the synths to life! The sound becomes captivating! It's a must-have to complement your synths!

I am an owner of P914 FFB for more than two years and it's one of my most used and creative plugins. It's my go to tool whenever I need to enhance sequences, atmospheres or drums. I have no clue how close to the HW is but I never regret spending the high price. Now after using P915 for a couple of weeks I am even more satisfied with the results, the filters and drive circuit are great!
Don ´t underestimate the power of this filter! It has quickly become my most important mixing plugin for electronic music. It is essential. If I could keep only one plugin in my arsenal, this one would be it without a doubt!

After a short test drive, I was pleasantly surprised by how versatile this is. Similar concept to how graphic EQs are fixed frequency, but this is WAY more versatile. The different wet options are critical to making this a creative character chameleon. On top of that, there are the cool delay, split, morph and performance options. What a beast. Oh yes, and the drive... meow indeed.
A great re-make for the next generation to play with! Grateful for the HPF/LPF! Appreciate the zero-latency too!

I am lucky enough to have access to the original Moog Model 10 reissue that has a very similar P907 Filterbank. What can I say. P914 Medusa is like the real deal, but with all modern goodies (plus it's stereo!).

Incredible Filter sounds. I tried several other filter banks and they just don't compete with this one in terms of sound. and great sound is something i never regret.

P914 FFB builds on the classic Moog Fixed Filter Bank and pushes beyond its limitations to provide familiar classic filtered tones as well as some new creative ones.
In addition to the inductor based filters, P914 adds a few features that allow for greater usability including a Mix control, preset Morphing (allows for moving filters), and my personal favorite, the Stereo filters and delay offsets per side.
Having the latter two allow for spacial spreads (without using modulation effects like chorus). My favorite use for P914 is on acoustic guitars. Dial down the unwanted resonances, boost the sparkle and body, then separate it into a wide, lush sound. Offset the delay time in one channel to go even wider.
Of course it works well on synths as the original was intended. You can dial in acoustic resonances for electric instruments quite well as a sound design tool. Does fun and creative work on drums as well.
I think that it might not be seen as exciting of an effect these days, but I've found it to be a useful part of my collection. Also note that Pulsar Modular regularly update and bring new features to their existing plugins.
What a great and beautifully sounding filterset!
Note that in the current version v1.5.3, the plugin does not remember the plugin window size if it is changed - after closing the plugin, it always opens in the same default size (at least with the 64 bit VST3 version on Win10), which is a bit annoying. Also, the GUI design appears to be a lot less streamlined/polished compared to the newer Pulsar Modular plugins. Fortunately, there seems to be an update in the works with a GUI upgrade (and additional features as well). This is a great thing with Pulsar Modular actually - even older releases don't get abandoned but are still improved and maintained, and updates are usually free.
I own all of the Pulsar Modular plugins and I am so excited. It sounds so good and expensive!!
Does what it says on the box - great filterset with analog hardware mojo. I've never had access to the real deal but don't feel like I'm missing out.
